What does a kitchen remodel actually involve?
Most kitchens fall into one of three levels: a refresh, a full replacement, or a layout change. A refresh keeps the layout and swaps finishes. A full replacement takes it back to the studs and rebuilds with new cabinets, counters, flooring and lighting. A layout change moves walls, plumbing or electrical and needs permits and licensed trades — which is where a general contractor matters.
The part homeowners underestimate is sequencing. Cabinets cannot go in before the flooring decision is locked, countertops cannot be templated until the cabinets are set, and electrical rough-in has to pass inspection before anything is closed up. When five different trades each schedule themselves, a six-week kitchen becomes four months. We run the schedule, hold the trades to it, and give you one person to call.

Kitchen Remodeling questions
How long does a kitchen remodel take?
A finish-level refresh is usually one to two weeks. A full replacement keeping the same layout runs three to six weeks. Moving walls, plumbing or electrical typically takes six to ten weeks including permit and inspection time. You get a written schedule before we start.
Can I use my kitchen during the remodel?
Partly. There is a stretch — usually from demolition until the countertops are templated and installed — where the kitchen is out of use. We tell you exactly when that window falls so you can plan, and we set up a temporary fridge and microwave space where there is room.
Do you handle the plumbing and electrical?
The work is performed by licensed trades and inspected where the village requires it — we coordinate and schedule them as your general contractor so it is one contract and one point of contact, not four.
